Paris is a city of dream but it is complicated to know what to see and do on top of the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Garnier Opera, the Marais… It is even complicated for a Parisian to know his or her own city well as there are so many points of interest.
For first-timers in Paris, a private guided tour with an expert guide is certainly the best way to become familiar with the city, exploring its most famous districts and monuments.

You will love :

• The private tour of Paris with personal and English-speaking driver and guide

• The private walking tour of one specific district with your private English-speaking licensed guide

• Optional: Lunch with a view over Paris

AFTERNOON: CHOICE OF PRIVATE WALKING TOURS

#1  : Private walking tour of the islands of Paris Ile de la Cité & Ile Saint Louis
You guide will take you to a great plunge in the city's history. You will start with the Quai des Orfevres (famous for its number 36 – headquarters of the French judiciary police), pass by the Palais de Justice and go by the Conciergerie, an ancient state jail, where Marie-Antoinette was made prisoner, right next to the Sainte-Chapelle, constructed by Saint-Louis in order to protect the relics of the Christ. You will then visit the Marche aux Fleurs (flower market) and walk to Notre-Dame cathedral, the Gothic jewel from the 12th century. You will continue the tour crossing to the Ile Saint Louis, smaller island and former residence of the French aristocracy in the 17th century. You will discover small alleys, arcades and private hotels from this period with architectural wonders.

#2 : Private walking tour of secret Montmartre
Your private tour will start on the Abbesses square and its famous 'Je t'aime' (I love you' wall. You will walk up to the Sacré-Cœur, an early 20th century constructed basilica, next to the Saint Peter of Montmartre Church : one of the oldest in Paris in a Roman style. You will then continue your private walking tour with the Place du Tertre, the center of the village and the haunt of caricaturists. You will pass by the vineyard of the Clos du Montmartre, until the cabaret of the Lapin Agile, a symbol of the bohemianism from the beginning of the 20th century. Your guide will also take you to more secret places and cobblestones streets like the Dalida square, the Villa des Arts or the Allée des Brouillards where the other visitors rarely go.

#3 : Private walking tour of the Marais
Starting from the Saint-Paul Saint-Louis church, you will then move to the Place des Vosges, the former Place Royale and the centre of this neighborhood during the Renaissance, where you can see the arcades and fountains. You will then enter the 17th century Hôtel de Sully courtyard and take the Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, to admire many magnificent private mansions. You will pass by the Philippe Auguste Tower, constructed in the 13th century, and you will finish your walking tour with the Hotel de Rohan and its beautiful stables, and the oldest palace in Paris, the Hotel de Soubise. This formerly aristocratic neighborhood will impress you with its pre-Haussmann architecture, with its numerous private mansions (“hotels particuliers”) dating from the 16th and 17th century.
