VINEYARDS IN PARIS
When you think of the French vineyards, regions such as Burgundy or Bordeaux come directly to mind. But do you know that Paris has also its own vineyards?
The capital has about ten vineyards scattered in different districts. The most famous vines of Paris are in Montmartre between the Sacré-Coeur and the Moulin Rouge in the 18th arrondissement.
Every year since 1935 the harvest festival is celebrated in October in Montmartre. A great opportunity to visit the vineyards, attend concerts and stroll in this district in a friendly atmosphere. You can also see vineyards in several Parisian parks, heritage from the past wine of Paris. In 1922, 500m² of vines were planted in Belleville. You can still see some vines in the park of Belleville.
