André Derain exhibition at the Centre Pompidou
From October 4th 2017 to January 29th 2018, the Centre Pompidou located in the 4th arrondissement is presenting the work of André Derain, a major 20th century artist. The exhibition is tracing the various stages of his career before the WWI from 1904 to 1914. This French painter played a major role in the emergence of two avant-garde movement: Fauvism and Cubism. The exhibition shows around 70 paintings but also drawings, sculptures, ceramics, photographies and even films. The exhibition follows his career chronologically and you will discover painting of landscapes, portraits and still life… You will also see the painter's style and the colors used evolve over the years.
