Paris is the most filmed city in the world. Everyday, around ten film shooting occur simultaneously in Paris.
Certainly, the city of Lights was a recurrent subject for the french movie directors but also inspired many foreign film makers.
It began with the New Wave moviemakers, Paris was a backdrop for many of their films; "Breathless" by Jean-Luc Godard with Brigitte Bardot or "The Great Stroll" by Gerard Oury. At the same time, Vincente Minelli produced the famous movie "An American in Paris" with Gene Kelly.
In 1970, Paris conquered the cartoon cinema with the Walt Disney Studio's production, the must-see cartoon "The Aristocats".
Since the 1990's, it's hard to keep track of all the films that were made in Paris that became famous. It's even harder to say how many films were made in the french capital city. Whether it be a romantic comedy like "Midnight in Paris" by Woody Allen or "The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain", a historic movie like "Marie-Antoinette by Sofia Coppola, a drama like "Inglorious Bastards" by Tarantino, a musical comedy like "Moulin Rouge" or an animation movie like "Ratatouille" of the Disney-Pixar Studio, Paris is a city that makes moviemakers happy.
Otherwise, the "Grand Rex" cinema, listed historic monument and one of the biggest movie theatre in Europe is a perfect place for movie-lovers. A prestigious visit of the cinema is now available, come and discover the backdoor of the place!
So, why don't you dive into the Parisian 7th Art and come enjoy a screening at the Grand Rex?
