« Meteorites from sky to earth »
The National Museum of Natural History offers an exhibition on meteorites until June 2018. An unusual subject that can interest the whole family. Meteorites are fascinating objects but we don’t know much about them. This interactive and educational exhibition will allow you to learn more about these extraterrestrial stones. You will even have the opportunity to touch big meteorites, a small piece from the moon and another piece from the planet Mars. A rewarding and exciting experience!
After this exhibition you could continue your visit in the various galleries of the Jardin des Plantes. It is a great place for your family trip in Paris. You can visit the Gallery of Evolution where you could discover the diversity of animal species of the marine and terrestrial world.
Skeleton lovers? You can also visit the Paleontology and comparative Anatomy Gallery. A visit that will immerse you in the world of the vertebrates still present today and living beings that have already disappeared.
Finally, you can also walk in the Jardin des Plantes and go to the Menagerie - the zoo of the garden. This menagerie houses 200 species of animals, enough to satisfy the whole family.
After a morning full of learning and discovery, we advise you to go for a stroll in the 5th arrondissement, in the Latin Quarter. This district is the oldest of Paris so here are some suggestions to enjoy a beautiful walk in this area. You could start with the Arènes of Lutece: in a peaceful square discover the remains of a Gallo-Roman amphitheater built in the first century. After, you could go to Rue Mouffetard, a very lively street with lots of market stalls and good products to taste and to buy for souvenirs. Finally, finish your walk by discovering the Pantheon: a church dated from the 18th century where important people who have made the history of France are now buried.
During your family trip, the team of Paris-Toujours can also organize for you a guided and private tour of the Latin Quarter.
